My own gallery at last !!!!

The Ian Walton Gallery

Farndon

Cheshire

After 40 years as a practising artist I have finally decided to open my own gallery, in the picturesque medieval village of Farndon on the banks of The Dee in Cheshire . Farndon bridge is one of the oldest crossings on the river and marks the border between England and Wales . On the Welsh side the bustling village of Holt is home a number of terrific independent businesses.

Alongside my own work I will be exhibiting work by other artists, sculptors and crafts people, and running classes . I want to create the finest and least pretentious gallery in Cheshire . Most of all I want to build a great friendly relationship with the community.

The gallery occupies part of the upper floor of what was formerly 'Top Farm', a mid 17th century grade 2 listed building in the heart of the village .

We have four rooms with a total floor area of 100sqm,offering great scope for solo exhibitions to established artists and new and emerging ones.

Its a most exciting prospect and not least of all because we have great neighbours . My long term friend Cathryn Woodall (Farndon Physiotherapy). Willie Carter (Farndon Pottery) a much celebrated and well established craftsman, who's been part of Top farm for over 30 years. I'm looking forward to meeting the ladies from the hairdressers, the team at Tilley Anna's bridal wear and Mr & Mrs Hale (photographers) . Last but by no means least the owners of Little Churtons Restaurant James Churton and Suzanne Little. Its going to be wonderful to be part of a community of small independent businesses in a lovely village.

Atop all of this, within a few minutes walk I can be on the banks of the Dee, with stunning views of the borders landscape . I will need a sign for the door . 'Gone painting'
