Stormy Day at Penmaenmawr, near Conwy, Wales

The Victorian seaside resort of Penmaenmawr has been bypassed by the A55 expressway now, however it is still possible to get to this fantastic beach. The estimated wind speed on this particular morning was 35 knots plus! The sea became a wall of foam and spray, and the brief break in the clouds gave the essential light for this painting.
