The Ian Walton Gallery, Farndon, Cheshire
A Contemporary Landscape & Seascape Gallery Exhibiting Mainly Original Oil Paintings of Wales By Ian Walton.
As well as an Exhibition Space For Ian's Completed Artwork it is also a Working Artists Studio, Framers and a space for art tuition and painting workshops.
Alongside Ian's own artwork, he exhibits paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass and crafts by some of the best Local and Artists in Cheshire and North Wales and runs regular classes and workshops for those who share a passion for painting.
After 40 years as a practising Artist, it was time to open his own gallery and the picturesque medieval village of Farndon was the perfect setting. Farndon bridge is one of the oldest crossings on the river and marks the border between England and Wales. The gallery occupies part of the upper floor of what was formerly 'Top Farm', a mid-17th-century grade 2 listed building in the heart of the village. There are five rooms with a total floor area of 100sqm, offering great scope for solo exhibitions to new and emerging or established artists alike.
Atop all of this, Ian can be on the banks of the Dee and painting the stunning views of the Border landscape within just a few minutes walk.
Ian Waltons Gallery is one of the most honest and least pretentious galleries you could visit, everyone is welcome.
The sign on the door may occasionally read 'Gone painting'
